Securement Checklist Generator
Choose a load type and generate a simple checklist you can adapt to company policy.
Quick Answer
Choose a load type and generate a simple checklist you can adapt to company policy.
How to use this tool
Select the load type — flatbed, dry van, reefer, sealed trailer, or claim documentation workflow. The generator returns a checklist of inspection and documentation prompts relevant to that load type.
Review the generated list and add any carrier-specific tasks, commodity-specific requirements, shipper instructions, or regulatory details that apply to your specific load. The generated output is a starting framework, not a complete policy.
What the generated checklist is
Each generated checklist is a planning prompt based on the load type category. It draws from the securement and documentation topics on this site — tiedown inspection, seal recording, load pattern review, damage documentation, and reinspection timing.
Generated items are general reminders. They do not know your specific cargo type, carrier policy, commodity-specific federal requirements, or shipper instructions. Before using any generated checklist in a live operation, adapt it to the applicable rule and company procedure.
Limitations
The generator does not produce a legally-approved form, a carrier-certified inspection process, or an FMCSA-endorsed procedure. It is a text-based planning aid for educational use.
For commodity-specific loads — metal coils, logs, lumber, concrete pipe, heavy vehicles, and other cargo types listed in §393.116–§393.136 — the generated general checklist should be compared against the specific federal requirements for that cargo type before use.
Checklist
- Choose load type and generate the checklist.

- Add carrier policy and shipper instructions.
- Verify source requirements for the specific cargo before use.
Practical Notes
This tool is a planning aid only. Verify current device ratings, applicable regulation text, and carrier policy before using any calculated result in a live securement decision.
