Glossary
Palletized Freight
Palletized freight is cargo arranged on pallets for handling and transport.
Plain-English Meaning
A pallet makes freight easier to handle, but it does not prove the product is stable. Product can lean inside wrap, pallet boards can break, and mixed-height rows can leave movement space.
Wrap, bands, pallet boards, product height, row gaps, floor condition, and door-area loading all matter. Enclosed trailer controls such as load bars, straps, dunnage bags, or blocking should match the movement risk.
For sealed loads, document what was visible before the seal was applied or what could not be inspected after pickup.
In day-to-day freight work, the safest use of the term is narrow and factual. Confirm the current rule, equipment rating, shipment condition, and company procedure before using any glossary definition for a live securement decision.
Watchouts
- Watch for leaning product, broken boards, and door pressure.
- Sealed palletized loads need clear inspection-limit notes.
- Do not assume shrink wrap can replace load control.
